Duration of Registration Requirement:
Life or 10 years depending on conviction and recidivist status. See Minn. Stat. Section 243.166.
Out of state offenders shall register for the time period required by the state of conviction or adjudication unless a longer time period is required elsewhere in this section. See section 243.166(b)(3), (6)(e).
Early Termination:
No specific provision for early termination. Pardon may relieve obligation to register but there is no authority on point. Sealing the case probably does not relieve registration duty. Sex offenses may not be expunged under section 609A.02.
